The second Seaside-class ship (MSC Seaview) was delivered in June 2018. There was also an option for a third Seaside-class ship (scheduled delivery 2021). Signature activity areas include Adventure Trail outdoor playground (rope courses, bridges, crawl-through slides) and Zip-Line (length 130 m / 430 ft). The aqua park has 5x waterslides, an interactive Slideboarding tube (combining video games, music, lights, 112-m water slide), Aquatube (innertube slide), 2x high-speed racing slides and 1x family flume-type slide. The Yacht Club is restricted to premium passengers who pay for better suites and amenities. Typically, on other cruise ships, you can expect the VIP area to offer larger, nicer staterooms, possibly a restaurant or two and maybe a private pool. Over the course of four days, we saw only one or two people actively cleaning, even when the ship was docked at Nassau. This was a stark contrast to other cruise lines, where cleaning crews are visible and active throughout the day.

The quality and cleanliness of the drinks were also a cause for concern. The mixed drinks lacked consistency, indicating that the bartenders may have been inexperienced or lacking proper training, despite their tenure with the cruise line. What was even more alarming was the lack of attention to cleanliness and hygiene. On multiple occasions, we witnessed bartenders using the same utensils, such as spoons, for different drinks without washing them in between. The blenders were also not cleaned properly, as the same lid was used for multiple drinks, resulting in cross-contamination of flavors and ingredients.

Do note, however, that shows aboard MSC Seaside are on the shorter side, and in a smaller theater, which may be different from what you’ve experienced on other cruises.
